What happens when you bring it in
Check
We confirm whether it's a hardware fault or a software or driver issue, and test with an external keyboard.
Inspect for liquid damage
If there has been a spill, we look for corrosion that could affect other parts.
Match
We match your model, key layout and backlight, then confirm cost and timing with you.
Replace and test
We fit the new keyboard and test every key and the backlight before returning it.
Keyboard replacement: common questions
Can I just use an external keyboard?
As a stopgap, yes. But if a spill caused the problem, the laptop still needs checking, because corrosion can spread to the motherboard.
Will you have my keyboard layout?
Most models use common layouts. Tell us your laptop model and whether you need backlit keys, and we'll confirm availability.
Can single keys be replaced?
Sometimes a key cap can be refitted or replaced. If the mechanism underneath is broken, replacing the whole keyboard is usually more reliable.
